Basement waterproofing

If your basement exhibits one or more of following symptoms you have a dampness problem and possibly, a leaky basement...

  • Water trickling out of walls
  • Standing water on the floor
  • Saturated base of concrete block walls
  • Damp, humid air
  • Condensation on cold walls and floor in summer
  • Odor, mold, and mildew
  • Deterioration of carpet or wood
  • Rot and decay of wood headers, joists, sill plates, and columns
  • Staining and blistering of wall covering
  • Efflorescence, spalling of concrete or masonry
Some situations simply cannot be resolved through external excavation. In the case we employs an internal water control system. This system features an airgap drainage membrane which directs the flow of water to a network of drainage tiles installed below the basement floor.

We repair seepage through porous areas of the foundation from the inside by installing an internal drainage system. This method will work for: Poured Concrete, Concrete Block and Stone basements.

Along the problem area the concrete floor is removed and a trench is dug to allow placement of a new drain tile. The DELTA MS is installed on the wall from grade level to the footing and over the tile (on block walls, holes are drilled into each cavity of the bottom row of blocks to encourage drainage). The tile is connected to some form of water removal system (i.e. sump pump or floor drain depending on local by-laws) and then the floor is replaced.
